Paralegal - Bikers Team

REED Legal are working with one of the UK’s leading providers of insurance and legal services who have built a reputation for an ethical approach to personal injury litigation.

They are looking to recruit a Paralegal to work in their Bikers Team the role will provide general assistance and support to the fee earners working on RTA files.

Providing general paralegal/admin support to the file handlers providing fee-earning support as and when requested. Your role will include, initial liability investigations, obtaining special damage documents, police reports, medical records, and medicalreports. You will work on a caseload of pre litigation claims involving **motorbikes, mopeds, pushbikes, and e scooters.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for working on and assisting the bike team with their high-volume caseload of motorbike, moped, bike and e scooter Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firm’s Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal proceduresand practices.
- To ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
- To undertake pre litigation work - investigating liability and obtaining special damage documentation and any relevant medical evidence.
- To be able to assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports, researching, and obtaining relevant case law if necessary
- To assist the team with any litigation that is needed - carrying out tasks such as witness statement preparation
- To provide general admin and /or paralegal support as and when requested.
- To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
- Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
- To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.

**Experience**:
Must have some experience of biking or currently be a biker.
- You must have a background of handling pre litigation claims or experience working in a claims environment.
- Excellent and confident communicator with a good telephone manner.
- Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm.

**Desirables**
- Some Fast Track RTA experience is preferable.
- You should be a biker (in terms of having experience in owning and/or riding a motorbike) or have a proven track record of handling bike claims.
- Overall, you will be responsible for delivering a robust quality claims handling service, with a key focus on client outcomes, to help the team generate fee income and to contribute to the general success of the team and business.

**Salary: **£24,000

**Full or part-time basis ( 5 or 3 days per week )**
