Whitehaven, United Kingdom Arup Full time

**Launch your career with Arup**:
Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, consultants and experts working globally. Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigour to shape a better world.

From your first day you'll join a welcoming community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification. You'll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients.

**Our Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships**:
Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 2 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

**What we're looking for**:
We're looking for apprentices that are curious about the built and natural environment and are committed to their personal development. We'll teach you the skills and technical knowledge that you need for a rewarding career in design and professional services, where you'll be part of a collaborative team that delivers excellence for our clients.

**You should be available to start this opportunity no later than September 2023.**

**Civil Engineer**

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Apprentice Technician to join our Civil Engineering team in Whitehaven. You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes. You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to help us deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients, as well as local authorities and many others. There will be opportunities to work on early-stage feasibility studies through to detailed design where you will contribute to developing and analysing 3D design models to deliver successful outcomes for our clients. Furthermore, across all teams you will support a variety of work including the production of engineering drawings and sketches, virtual design reviews, preparation of engineering calculations and contributing to solutions for design challenges.

**What we offer you**:
Beyond a great salary and stimulating work, Arup offers a range of additional benefits to its people. As a membership organisation, everyone shares in our success through a global profit share scheme. Our people also have access to a range of broader wellbeing benefits.

You'll have access to lots of learning opportunities including a structured Welcome Programme and ongoing development through Arup University.

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to utilise your skills to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in the communities in which we live and work through Arup's Community Engagement programme.
