Hours: 32.5 per week (to be worked 5 out of 7 days, including occasional weekends and bank holidays)

Weston Hospicecare is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as our new Head Housekeeper. We provide care for local people living with a life-limiting illness, so experience in a healthcare environment may be helpful.

Duties will include:

- Providing first-line management and leadership to the operational housekeeping team, assisting with performance reviews and ensuring effective utilisation of staff for planned and reactive housekeeping tasks
- Maintaining high cleaning standards in the In Patient Unit and various departments, allocating daily tasks to housekeepers for a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in compliance with CQC standards, National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, and health and safety legislation
- Organising and supervising an ongoing cleaning programme for the hospice site, ensuring all areas meet high standards. This includes designing and delivering effective cleaning schedules, addressing carpet and furniture cleaning, waste disposal, curtain cleaning, and necessary fireproofing.
- Coordinating day-to-day operational activities of the housekeeping team, managing the rota, monitoring cleaning schedules, and recording leave and absence (e.g., annual leave and sick leave)
- Contributing to the Estates & Facilities Team to deliver a high-quality service to patients
- To be conversant with reception opening and closing procedures and provide cover during periods of absence

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

- Relevant experience in housekeeping or a similar role
- Confidence and passion for delivering outstanding care
- Ability to work 32.5 hours per week including occasional weekends and bank holidays
