We are looking for a cow focussed Senior Herdsperson to join our existing team on our 300 cow family farm located north of Ashford in Kent.

The Business

A family run mixed farming business farming approximately 1000 acres with all aspects of foraging and harvesting done in house. The AYR calving Holstein Frisian herd currently averages 9500 litres with good solid components and A band milk quality. Milked twice a day through a modern 24:48 GEA parlour with teat scrub, ADF and cowscout collars. The herd is managed with help from the uniform Agri software. It has low mastitis rates and low antibiotic use. The herd is closed with all youngstock reared on the farm. DNA testing is used to aid in breeding selection with the aim of improving the overall profitability of the cows.

The role will be supported with an assistant, with regular time off, good rates of pay and a three bedroom house on the farm 10 minutes from schools and Ashford town.

The role will suit an experienced dairy person but also could be adapted to someone who is looking to progress in the dairy industry and take on more responsibility. Training will be given to the right person if required
