**The role**:
Head of Health and Safety

This role will lead the health and safety programme, culture and change agenda based in the IAG Cargo London Operation. The Head of Health and Safety oversees the policies, actions and behaviours that ensures the safety of our colleagues, customers and partners worldwide. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and practices whilst fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the worldwide organisation with new insights into ways of working.

**What you’ll do**:
**Health and Safety Leadership**:

- Develop and execute the company's health and safety strategy, in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Lead and inspire a team of health and safety professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of safety consciousness amongst all colleagues external stakeholders.
- Work with fellow senior leaders to embed health and safety as recognised culture of excellence and importance across the IAG Cargo business

**Policy Development and Compliance**:

- Develop and maintain health and safety policies and practices in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensure that the organisation is aware of and complies with all applicable health and safety standards.
- Review and update policies to reflect changes in regulations or industry trends.

**Risk Assessment and Mitigation**:

- Identify potential health and safety risks in the workplace, and collaborate with all parts of the business to implement appropriate mitigations. This includes in warehouse areas, live airfields and office environments.
- Develop and implement risk assessment processes to minimise workplace incidents and accidents.

**Training, Education and Culture**:

- Oversee the development and delivery of health and safety training programmes.
- Ensure that all colleagues, contractors, and partners are well informed and competent in safety procedures.
- Embed a just culture of health and safety within the IAG Cargo operation, acting as a core part of the operations team.

**Incident Management and Reporting**:

- Establish and maintain procedures for reporting and investigating incidents and accidents.
- Ensure thorough incident investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Compile and analyse incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing insights for all of the IAG Cargo teams to take relevant action.

**Auditing and Continuous Improvement**:

- Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identify areas for improvement and work on the implementation plan for corrective actions in collaboration with operational stakeholders.

**Communication and Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Chair safety forums and lead safety performance boards and ensure an effective and efficient HSE meeting structure across IAG Cargo Operations which gives operational management an accurate picture of risk and feeds into relevant corporate meetings.
- Establish effective communication channels for health and safety information throughout the IAG Cargo organisation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with safety objectives and requirements.

**What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo**:

- Professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Proven track record in relevant Health and Safety field and leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong ability to analyse data and use this to inform recommendations in changes to working practices.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Able to build strong relationships with colleagues across all parts of the IAG Cargo business.
- Proactive decision maker with an ability to influence change across the organisation.
- Desirable: degree level qualification
