Role Summary:
As an integral member of the Safety & Quality (S&Q) team, the role will coordinate all HESS aspects of the Safety Management System (SMS) including; ISO standards, HSE regulatory requirements as well as overseeing specific areas of responsibility within the S&Q functional area.

The role reports directly to the Safety & Quality Manager and will be based in Aberdeen but the individual will also support the two Southern North Sea bases as well as functional managers across the UK. In addition to this, this role will take on a wider European focus across multiple AOCs and work in conjunction with other S&Q personnel in the EU.

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of an HSE Advisor are:

- Ensure the HESS programme remains effective, and maintained within CHC Helicopter, coordinating with functional S&Q leads
- Review new and existing HSE related legislation, procedures, rules and agreements to ensure compliance
- Maintain a strong awareness of customer HSE requirements
- Monitor the safety KPIs to measure the effectiveness of HESS elements within the SMS
- Promote HESS awareness throughout the Company to foster a culture whereby all base personnel are ultimately responsible for their own safety
- Ensure all HESS issues are coordinated with relevant aspects of the SMS as well as overseeing specific areas of responsibility within the S&Q functional area
- Review and analyse HESS audits and safety reports to develop targeted intervention strategies
- Carry out Internal HESS Audits
- Provide HESS related training to base employees and representatives and maintain training records
- Maintain the emergency response plans for the base, ensuring they are regularly exercised and updated and base personnel are familiar with these
- Conduct and document risk assessments as appropriate and conduct regular reviews
- Ensure regular HSE-related meetings are held at the bases and are documented
- Liaise with Customers, Regulators, Companies, Manufacturers and other Industry bodies, as appropriate
- Undertake any special projects relating to HESS activities

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

- A professional qualification in HSE, or equivalent education, training and experience
- Lead Auditor qualification (9001, 14001 & 45001), preferably with experience in auditing and securing and sustaining these ISO standards
- Strong knowledge of MS Office products
- Be self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on safety and risk management
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cohesively with a team environment
- A University degree or diploma in Safety, Quality or related discipline is preferred
- An Incident Investigator qualification or experience is preferred
- Experience of Accident/Incident Investigation or Root Cause Analysis is preferred
- Project management experience is preferred
