**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assistant Community Coordinator & Engagement Officerwho has experience engaging with and working in partnership with local voluntary and community organisations, in addition to working with families, schoolsand childcare providers and volunteer coordinators.

Working as the Assistant Community Coordinator & Engagement Officer you will assist the community engagement volunteer co-ordinators to promote and develop strong local partnerships across Wiltshire, particularly with grass roots organisations deliveringservices to families and their children, local primary schools and childcare settings. The aim is to develop a self-sustained community model within the children centre’s reach area.

As the Assistant Community Coordinator & Engagement Officer you will ideally have a proven track record of engaging with other voluntary organisations, experience of working in a multi-agency approach, experience of undertaking consultation and co-productionwith service users in order to improve and develop services. You will have a sound knowledge of the children and families voluntary sector in Wiltshire, and be keen to play a key role in ensuring that the organisation delivery fits as part of the multi-agencyapproach which exists in Wiltshire.

Access to a car for work purposes is essential as this will involve travel across the quadrant in which you are based, and with occasional travel to other quadrants in Wiltshire.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as the Assistant Community Coordinator & Engagement Officer include:

- Link with and to develop strong partnerships with local schools, early years settings and relevant community organisations in order to promote and develop services with the aim to build a one stop family hub model
- Support the senior team to embed co-production through children’s centre services, so that services are co-produced by and for the families
- Enabling family support workers to access a wider range of complementary services, ensuring that children’s centre delivery is consolidated, and families receive the right services at the right time from the right agency
- Work proactively and creatively with other colleagues to promote the 'volunteering’ aspect of the voluntary sector through identifying and sustaining a rapport with external volunteering agencies
- Promote the role of other community providers and volunteers in the delivery of the services within the staff team and multi-agency partners

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Experience in engaging with and working in partnership with local voluntary and community organisations
- Experience of working and liaising with other professionals within a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary service setting.
- An understanding of community development practice
- IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office / 365 (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- A car driver and access to a car for work purposes
- Regular travel within Wiltshire
- Flexible approach to hours due to occasional evening and weekend work, possible travel and supporting the needs of colleagues and service users

**DESIRABLE**
- Experience of working with children and their families, or working with services which support them
- A working knowledge and demonstrable understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues, including safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures and systems
- Knowledge of safeguarding in relation to children and vulnerable adults
