The Growth Company's (GC) Business Growth Hub (BGH) is looking for an experienced professional who is passionate about driving sustainable business growth through innovation and investment.

**This is a fixed term role until 31 March 2025.**

The BGH's ambitious Innovation Service is leading a step-change increase in sustainable innovation in Greater Manchester. We want to capitalise on Greater Manchester's unique community spirit to build a pioneering, globally recognised network of innovative, sustainable businesses connected by academic and industry led technology clusters. We are **supporting local companies to develop new or modified solutions to products, services, or market approach by accessing local innovation and R&D assets, and secure increased investment** - whilst crucially also delivering enhanced performance or business competitiveness.

That’s where you come in the picture You will be part of a dynamic innovation team, with an exciting mission: Your goal will be to source and identify new companies and carry out initial innovation eligibility and suitability activities to refer companies into the team, helping local businesses to accelerate commercialisation and access to investment, to create and launch new products and services into the market by utilising your local place-based knowledge and networking ability.
- **This role is open to secondment opportunities if you are already working for a key stakeholder in the region, and we would encourage Greater Manchester residents and locally networked associates and consultants working in place to also apply.**_

You are looking to contribute and develop your expertise towards a mission that you believe in. You possess the ability to work in place with your local authority alongside existing locally based account managers and innovation network to identify new businesses that have not previously accessed the innovation ecosystem. You will identify businesses from targeted sectors across segmented technology clusters, from a variety of databases. You are excited about fostering collaboration opportunities and working with the region’s innovation assets. You have a strong drive to identify innovative companies and ideally will have worked within the local authority before. We are looking for entrepreneurial people, with commercial and technical aptitude, who are passionate about delivering new and scalable solutions to real problems. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in networking, inspiring and catalysing people towards innovative action.

**Essential Skills**:

- Strong business expertise and analytical skills to quickly understand a broad variety of technical sectors and identify innovation opportunities by working with targeted data sets.
- Evidence of customer engagement and targeted lead generation activity, supporting companies to explore how local business support stimulates profitable growth to create commercial success.
- Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work in a team-based organisation with demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: Up to £44,250.00 per year
