RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER

**40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year**

**Once Qualified in L3 Health and Social Care there is a potential to earn up to FTE: £27,374 after**

**further completion of relevant RMT courses and increased length of service**

Sleep-ins paid at an extra £78.48 per night

Ruskin Mill Trust currently offers residential support for s tudents, providing _Practical Skill Therapeutic Education_ for young people aged 16 to 25 years who have a range of learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders and behaviours that challenge.

Individual development is given the highest priority together with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a positive and progressive service. Welsh speaker desirable but not essential

In order to be successful in this role you will:

- Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
- Be a patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
- Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
- Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
- Be able to work flexible hours as this role includes working daytime, weekends, evenings and sleep over shifts on a rota basis
- A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will financially support you to gain this qualification

Due to the locations of some of our team houses - being a driver with access to your own vehicle would be advantageous. Dwbl, Pembrokeshire with travel to Ty’r Eithin, Carmarthenshire. Shifts involve working primarily during the evenings and weekends, including sleepovers
