We are a very busy Accident Repair Centre based in Thurmaston, looking for an experienced Estimator (VDA) to join our fantastic team. We are a medium size bodyshop and the position is permanent. You will be working with another qualified Estimator and other colleagues in the Bodyshop as well as across other functional areas.

**Salary**: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on your experience

ROLE

Inspect the damage on vehicles, using your technical skills and knowledge of cost-efficient repair methods to create an accurate estimate for work to be undertaken, incorporating a repair over replace mentality. You should ideally have good problem solving and expert customer service skills.
- Prepare computerised and manual estimates and to accurately record these, maintaining up-to-date records of all estimates
- Obtain from insurance companies authority to proceed with repair to a vehicle and to confirm the cost of the repair
- Communicate effectively with customers, engineers and technicians to ensure understanding of correct vehicle repair methodology.
- Ensure that any amendment to repair work is authorised by the insurance company.
- Once authorisation has been gained, to liaise with the bodyshop personnel and make sure that they understand fully the prescribed repair method.
- Work closely with technicians, direct customers and assessing high impact non-driveable vehicles.
- Upselling non-insurance related damage.

SKILLS:

- Technical skills, knowledge, and experience of body and paint repair in the accident and repair industry
- Technical and engineering / Estimating experience
- You come from a fast-paced background - you know how to work in a standard job time structure with a focus on producing compliant, high-quality work.
- Good clear knowledge of current estimating systems
- Good Professional negotiation skills
- The ability to communicate well under pressure.

You must have:

- Technical skills, knowledge and experience of body and paint repair in the retail Accident and Repair industry
- ATA - IMI qualified or imminent qualification due
- Audatex experience is essential
- Good negotiation skills
