Role Overview

This role supports the Health Services Business Unit and will form part of the Cromwell Hospital Finance & Commercial team which sits within the Bupa UK Commercial & Finance team. The role reports to the Head of Commercial Finance.

The role is responsible for Business Partnering several key operational hospital departments, producing the 3-year plan for those departments and supporting the Head of Commercial Finance in consolidating the plan; analysis on divergence to plan; and the provision of information and analysis to support decision making and drive corrective action.

What you’ll do:
- Business Partnering Be a trusted finance advisor to several key operational department and division managers in the Hospital.- Building relationships with the heads of department and providing support in monitoring and understanding departmental spend and forecasted performance against plan and recent trends.- Ensuring the heads of department understand and are able to explain their monthly results.- Delivering appropriate challenge on spend / decisions.- Provision of information and analysis to drive corrective action where relevant.- Responding to queries and identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and reporting.- Building the financial case for capital investment requests of the departments.- Financial Analysis Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and the production of business intelligence to help drive the profitability of the Hospital.- Ad hoc support and project input as required by the Head of Commercial Finance and FD.- Planning Leading the 3-Yr plan process for respective departments, ensuring these are aligned to strategy and Exec expectation.- Ownership of the master departmental plan template, which is rolled out to the team for production of the 3-year plan.- Recommend options to streamline and automate the plan process where possible.- Team Develop an understanding of wider FP&A activities to provide cover when necessary.- Actively participate in Cromwell Finance team meetings and events, along with broader hospital events, sharing ideas and helping to make the Cromwell a great place to work.

What you’ll bring:
- Be Part-qualified or near completion of recognised Accountancy Qualification ACCA/CIMA/ACA.- Reporting experience in producing outputs for senior Management and Executive teams, including the ability to draw out and summarise key messages.- Financial Analysis skills and ideally from a FP&A background.- Highly competent in Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of Oracle, Peoplesoft and Compucare would be desirable but not essential.- Experience in assisting with business cases, investment appraisals and modelling is desirable.- An understanding of key business drivers and of hospital operations is desirable but not essential. Health Care experience would be ideal but not essential.
