**About the role**

We now have opportunities for a Water Treatment Works Operative to join our team.

Reporting to a Water Supply Team Manager, you will be part of a team who are responsible for the maintenance of 30 slow sand filters that are key to our ability to provide clear drinking water to our customers.

Our Water Treatment Works Operatives, undertake a varied role, from sand skimming and washing, to sample analysis and maintenance of vehicles and plant machinery. The work environment is also varied, you will be mostly outdoors (whatever the weather) and will sometimes work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date._
- Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked_

**About you**

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated people who are happy working in rain or shine, outdoors, high up or in small spaces - essentially people who just want to get a good job done Basic awareness of water treatment would be helpful and previous experience of driving heavy plant would be very useful, however, just as important is a ‘can do - will do’ attitude and the ability to work enthusiastically and safely as part of a team. Full training will be given to enable you to do the job.
