**Job Overview**:
The role reports to the Head of Commercial Finance in Waste and Environmental Services and is part of the Waste finance team. The role supports circa £20m of contract revenues across a number and range of different contracts, but will also need to support the other team members with their contracts where required. The role is commercially focused, supporting Operations Directors, contract managers and operational teams. The key to being successful in this role is adding value - working with operations to ensure revenue is maximised, ensuring contract profitability is maximised and working capital management is optimised.

The Junior FBP will play a key role in ensuring the wider Finance team and the offshore teams deliver accurate reporting of the monthly GP results, ensuring they reflect the current performance of the business and driving initiatives as required. The FBP will also support with the compilation of the annual operating plan and re-forecasts and ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.

The individual will be a part-qualified accountant, ideally with 1+ years commercial experience, excellent analytical skills and an ability to understand and solve complex issues. The individual is a good communicator, has excellent stakeholder management skills and is an effective influencer.

**Main Duties**
- Working with onshore and offshore finance teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly management accounts ensuring integrity, accuracy, consistency and providing clear visibility of the financial results of the contracts
- Pro-active identification, tracking and management of financial risks & opportunities as they arise, flagging issues to Operations and implementing added-value opportunities
- Supporting in the accurate accounting of accrued and deferred income monthly, with clear visibility and communication to the business on non-current Accrued Income
- Understanding and challenging current business practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve process and deliver business growth objectives.
- Supporting the business leads to prepare full annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Detailed financial analysis and presentation of financial information to support decision making
- Ad hoc analysis and presentation of complex financial information in response to senior management requests
- Work closely with the Divisional senior management to help drive business performance and provide high quality financial information
- Develop and report KPI's relevant to the business.
- Support operations teams with cost management of client contract costs
- Undertake contract profitability analysis, providing insight to Operations on opportunities and risks

**What we are looking for**:

- Part qualified or studying (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with minimum of 1 year's commercial experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritise a changing workload and use initiative
- Good communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information
- High level of integrity with a commitment to embedding a strong governance culture
- A hardworking individual with lots of energy, who can deliver high quality work to tight reporting deadlines and demonstrate desire to progress within the company
- Able to produce concise and informative reporting under tight deadlines
