You will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services to residents of the centre, ensuring the highest care is given in line with appropriate guidelines. You will assist the Senior Occupational Therapist in ensuring that all staff workingwithin the Occupational Therapy Area provide the appropriate clinical care to the agreed standards.

As a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- To ensure that all documentation is of the highest standard as per Standards.
- To ensure that a high quality of Evidenced based practise (EBP) is sought. Maintain and develop current knowledge of EBP in all the areas of treatment in the department and develop specialist knowledge of individual sub specialty.
- Undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of EBP projects, audit and outcome measures.
- Represent Occupational Therapy service/patient as directed, to ensure the delivery of a coordinated multidisciplinary service. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter programmes if required.
- To be responsible for the safe and competent use of Occupational Therapy equipment, patient appliances and aids by patients and assist the Senior Occupational Therapist in ensuring that all staff / assistants attain competency prior to use.
- In consultation with the Senior Occupational Therapist undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentation/multi pathologies.
- In consultation with the Senior Occupational Therapist formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans; whilst assessing resident understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informedconsent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with residents who lack the capacity to consent to treatment in line with company policy.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree
- Experience working with people with neurological needs
- Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry.
- Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
