**Scope**

Chronicle is the computer system that is used to monitor all weapons transactions within North Yorkshire Police both operationally and within the firearms training and development unit.

The system is critical as it is used to plan, record and audit all firearms training within NYP providing a clear and auditable record whilst maintaining the integrity of all data. The role of Chronicle Systems Administrator role is to ensure that the information held on the systems is accurate and being used appropriately and efficiently whilst providing support to the firearms management structure.

As Chronicle Systems Administrator, you will have the ability to make decisions and influence others as training, developing and providing advice and support to the Chronicle staff and chronicle users is a key part to this role.

You will be organised and have excellent problem-solving skills, organising and allocating all duties and work within the chronicle team ensuring work is accurate and carried out in agreed timescales.

**Key Role Responsibilities**:

- To be responsible for first line management of the Chronicle Administration staff within the Firearms Training Unit.
- To organise and allocate all duties and work within the Chronicle team to ensure that the work of the team is accurate, carried out within agreed timescales, and is of a high standard.
- To train, develop and provide advice and support to the Chronicle staff and other Chronicle users. Including development and maintenance of user guides
- Provide feedback on a regular basis to Chronicle staff and other Chronicle users regarding their Chronicle submissions.
- To assist in the provision of training to new and existing users of the Chronicle System and development and maintenance of user guides.
- To develop own and teams knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and ensure a corporate, systematic approach is applied.
- To ensure that the GDPR rules are complied with by all members of the team when dealing with enquiries and advising on aspects of Chronicle management.
- To be responsible for the management, monitoring, security and updating of the Chronicle system on a day-to-day basis, amending and adding users as required.

- Knowledge of Firearms roles, National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC) and Command structures.
- Previous experience using the Chronicle system or similar firearms training database.

**Requirements/Conditions**

- Security vetting procedures for the post - SC Level
- Medical clearance procedures for the post - standard
- Occasional requirement to work in different locations
- Requirement to undertake refresher training as and when required
- Need to attend external meetings/conferences/workshops as required
- Requirement to wear uniform
