Sewing Machinist

We are seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to work as part of our production-based team in a fast paced environment.

Finishing a variety of fabric display stands to our specified quality standard ensuring the customer’s deadline is met. The person in this role will be proficient in the use of industrial sewing machines.

The role will involve the assembly and testing of a range of exhibition display stands, such as tube frame systems, flags and silicone edged graphics for light boxes, to ensure a good fit.

**Job Requirements**:

- Good timekeeping.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- To produce work to the quality/specifications and time frame required.
- Testing graphics on display stands where required.
- To detect any issues found at needle point.
- Liaising with colleagues regarding job scheduling.
- Report any machine issues to the Production Manager.
- Have a positive can-do attitude.

**Skills**
- Ability to use industrial flatbed sewing machines (training will be given on our specific equipment).
- To be able to use or be willing to learn to use an industrial overlocking machine.
- Having experience working with stretchy fabrics particularly sewing zips into this type of material, would be very useful but not essential.
- Be able to work within a close operational environment.
- Be willing to learn how to use a Zund digital fabric cutting machine.

Salary for this position is negotiable depending on your degree of experience.

Contracted working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm. Depending on our workload, overtime may be available and is payable at a higher 50% rate on weekends and after 6pm.
