Our commitment to innovation and precision has established us as a trusted name in the industry. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tool Maker to join our tool room team in Dunstable.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Tool Design and Fabrication**:

- Design and create precision tools, molds, and fixtures according to engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to develop detailed tool designs and create prototypes.
- **Tool Maintenance and Repair**:

- Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and repair tools and molds to minimize production downtime.
- **Machining and Fabrication**:

- Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines to fabricate and modify tools and components.
- Select appropriate materials and processes for tool making to ensure durability and functionality.
- **Quality Control**:

- Conduct inspections and tests on tools and molds to verify conformance to specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments and refinements to achieve desired tolerances and performance standards.
- **Collaboration and Documentation**:

- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and quality control to ensure tools meet production needs and quality standards.
- Document tool designs, modifications, and maintenance activities for future reference.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education and Experience**:

- Time-served apprenticeship in tool making or related field.
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the rubber or sealing industry.
- Proficiency in operating machine tools and using CAD/CAM software.
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong understanding of machining techniques, materials, and tool making processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and tools.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**HOURS**:

- Shift starts from 2.00 PM to 10.00 PM
- 40 hours per week, Weekends and overtime available in addition to basic salary at overtime premiums

**Ability to commute/relocate**:

- Dunstable, LU5 5BF: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
