Technologist - Personal Care
Summary:
Technologist - Personal Care will contribute to the development of new products for the Personal Care market. As part of the diverse team, they will successfully evaluate new product technologies, and assist with the development of prototype formulations. They will also provide support in collaboration with our sales and marketing organizations. This role will report to the Haircare Technology Team Leader.
Responsibilities Include:
- Carry out experiments as directed by the Haircare Technology Team Leader and Applications Scientist during product development-
- Effectively interpret data, clearly communicate and report laboratory activities and results through written reports-
- Maintain a safety mindset and focus. Contribute to the safety culture and aid in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees- Safely handle, log and dispose of chemicals on a routine basisQualifications:
The following are _required _for the role- Laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- Strong interest in hands-on work and learning new methods to ensure a good understanding of the products- Self-motivated individual who can manage their time effectively and efficiently- Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change- Excellent record keeping with attention to detail and accuracy- Excellent written communications skills in English- Results-oriented self-motivated individual- Strong interpersonal skills to encourage teamwork and foster an environment of achievementThe following are _preferred_ for the role- Bachelors Degree in Cosmetic Science or related Chemistry discipline-
- Experience in formulation of Personal Care finished goods or contract manufacturing- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and handle multiple projects simultaneously- Knowledge of statistics including design of experiments (DOE)
