Our client has an exciting position to join their supply chain team

The new **Senior Buyer **will have experience in both category **buying and sourcing** along with **purchasing of raw materials**. Our client is a unique mix of manufacturing and retail and so experience working in either environment would be advantageous.

The purpose of the role is to procure goods and services both **nationally and globally** that will deliver maximum value for money, support business growth and meet company requirements in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

**Key requirements**:

- Lead and work cross functionally on projects of indirect and direct spend.
- Conduct research to identify suppliers who will deliver best value and best quality of goods and services.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Review Terms & Conditions and support contract negotiations, establishing KPIs and SLAs to enable ongoing monitoring of the quality of service and product delivered.
- Production of tender documents and evaluation of tender responses
- Liaising with internal departments & Far East suppliers on the development of Sourced, ensuring products are developed and delivered on time and in full.
- Working with HR and Engineering on procurement projects including Health & Safety, Business Travel, Cleaning, PPE, Manual Handling equipment, Landscaping & Waste management.
- Work with the Purchasing team to identify cost savings across the business.
- Ensuring purchasing procedures are followed in line with the business purchasing strategy whilst ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.

**Qualifications, skills, and experience**:

- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage internal and external relationships.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Numerical, with strong analytical and negotiation skills
- High level of computer literacy, to include MS Excel & Word.
- Methodical, confident, and organised approach to working.
- Experience in dealing with global suppliers & sourced product development.
- Experience in “critical path” project management processes
- Experience preferably in manufacturing background negotiating contracts for goods and services in manufacturing, utilities, engineering & Health & Safety
- Ability to multitask, flexible /adaptable approach to work.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight schedules.
