**We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual, to take on the role of Specialist Support Worker in our Glasgow Housing First service**

**About the service**:
Glasgow Housing First’s aim is to support people to move into their own permanent tenancy and provide ongoing support with tenancy sustainment, preventing the risk of repeat homelessness. We aim to support and guide each client to enable them to become independent, through partnership working. This will be achieved at everyone’s own level and pace and will be line with the Housing First Principles of:

- People have a right to a home
- Flexible support is provided for as long as a person needs it
- Housing and support are separate
- Individuals have choice and control
- An active engagement approach is used
- The service is based on people’s strengths, goals and aspirations
- A Harm Reduction approach is adopted

**Key Responsibilities**:
The role of a Specialist Support Worker is an inspirational one and is key to achieving successful outcomes for the people we support. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. This role requires a motivated and dynamic individual who can work as part of a team and provide person centred support in a sensitive and trauma informed manner
- Level 3 qualification e.g. SVQ 3 Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards this
- The ability to manage your own caseload, prioritise and have a proactive approach
- Experience of working with vulnerable people
- The ability to attend and participate in client’s formal Reviews
- Knowledge of the Benefits system
- The ability to delegate and coordinate the work of Assistant Support Workers, ensuring that clients are being offered high-quality support to obtain their own goals
- The ability to take part in on-call duties, usually one week in every 3-4 months
- Good IT skills and an ability to input data and maintain a database
