We have a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual to join us as a Deputy Manager at our care home in Bedford.
You will be alongside our Registered Manager while setting up a bespoke support team
As Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, this includes ensuring that the needs of the service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring the quality of care and support, ensuringhigh standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with external regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Registered Manager, the post holder will work to ensure that specialist and quality care and support for service users is maintained through assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of service user care and support.The Deputy Manager will also be required to ensure that policies, procedures, systems and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied.

You will also be an inspiring role model, leading by example, imparting knowledge, championing best practice and promoting new thinking, enabling the teamto help the people we support to make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way.
Kelvedon Road is an 8-bed residential care home in Tiptree, Essex, supporting adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities to live their best lives.
The home consists of two bungalows, accommodating up to eight individuals. The properties have level access, specialised beds, bathroom facilities and ceiling hoists. The people we support are encouraged to personalise their rooms to their preferences. Thereis also a communal garden which is a great place to spend time with family and friends.
Kelvedon Road is a short distance from the local facilities and Tiptree High Street which has all the local amenities. We are a short drive from Colchester and Kelvedon Station which is on a main line to London Liverpool Street. The service also has accessto three vehicles for travel around the local area.
We are looking for a highly motivated team member who will either have or be working towards NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3/5. Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties is desirable. A sound working knowledge andunderstanding of CQC Regulations and Standards, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards is also desirable.

**In this role you will be expected to**:
- Demonstrate written communication skills, sufficient to contribute to a record keeping system.
- Be able to demonstrate a warm, person centred and affirmative approach to the individuals we support.
- Be able to remain compassionate, and professional during challenging times.
- Be willing to work alongside clinical professionals
- , and to be open to new ideas and ways of working.
- Lead and delegate appropriately when on shifts.
- Complete regular staff supervisions.
- Be a positive role model in all aspects of our daily work life
- Assist an individual when in crisis to manage their behaviours
