Location - Northamptonshire

Salary - £60 - £75K (DOE)

SC Clearance or SC Clearable

I am lucky enough to be working with a leading engineering firm who are pioneering surveillance and inhibition capabilities for defence and emergency services both in the UK and beyond. Due to continued demand for their products and growth, they are lookingto hire a Principal Embedded Engineer on a permanent basis, due to the nature of the work you will need to be either SC Cleared or SC Clearable.

This would suit somebody in commutable distance from Northamptonshire as you will need to be in the office 3 days a week.

Principal Embedded Engineer Specification:

- You will have overall responsibility for the Embedded Design team and achieving the requirements set out by the Engineering Manager, while taking a lead role in new product development.
- You will take a lead role in development including architecting and designing new products.
- This role is predominantly a design-based role.
- You will have previous experience in development of SDR S/ware and H/ware
- You will have previous experience in development of VHDL using Xilinx Vivado and/or Intel Quartus.
- You will have previous experience in development for ARM-based Zynq SoC devices and/or other device families from leading FPGA companies
- You will have previous experience in development of OFDM Radio Receivers and Transmitters using MATLAB, Simulink, HDL-Coder, custom IP blocks and third-party IP
- You will have previous experience in development using RF Agile Transceivers and RFSoCs
- You will have previous experience of DVB-T, Mesh, MANET or other datalink/radio technologies
- You will have previous experience in complex FPGA design from concept through to test, verification and release
- Linux experience
- C/C++
- Electronic Design/Schematic Capture
- Scoping systems and new technologies.
- Production of Requirement Specifications and other required documentation.
- Manufacturing/production assistance as require/requested.
- Mentoring of lower grades assigned to your design function.
- Act as or allocate the project lead for assigned projects.
- Organize and Lea Preliminary Design Reviews, Intermediate Design Reviews and Critical.
- Design Reviews as dictated by company procedures.
- Managing external design resources as required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Able to work in a team and interact with other Engineering disciplines.
- Qualifications Preferred:

- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an equivalent role.
- Ability to product results under pressure.
