**Job Title: Cashier Administrator**

**Location: Parklands Hospital, Aldermaston Rd Basingstoke RG24 9RH**

**Hours: 15hrs per week Mon-Fri 9am-12**

**Trust Location: Southern Health**

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- To provide and maintain an efficient banking and administration service for the Southern Health NHS Trust.
- To open accounts for patients if required and to be responsible for crediting/debiting each patient’s account.
- To receive all income from various sources including patients, cash registers, telephones, other departments, wards and relatives. To keep accurate records and to ensure all income is banked twice a week.
- To be responsible for receiving and returning patients’ property ensuring proper security procedures at all times.
- To ensure that the proper procedures are followed, as outlined in the Trust financial instructions, for all income received.
- To cash up daily and enter on petty cash
- Collect and record data accurately, completely and in a timely manner in line the Trust policies.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
- Communications skills
- both verbal and written
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload
- Previous administrative experience
- Previous experience in similar role

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
