**Purchase Ledger Supervisor/ Accounts Payable/ Team Leadership/ Growing Role and Department/ Agile Working**

Due to the growth of their Accounts Payable Team, my Manchester based client now require a supervisor for their payables function. Working within the accounts department and reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will be responsible for overallmanagement of the purchase ledger function, its continual improvement and to train new members that join the department to ensure high level of standards are maintained.
- Managing the purchase ledger function of the business. Ensuring that the function is robust and delivers a high quality service to the Partners and Suppliers.
- Reviewing processes to identify and action improvements, taking ownership of the Statement of Practices (SOPs) for the department
- Growing the team, overseeing recruitment requirements for the department
- Training of new team members and ensuring that current team members are working to agreed development plans
- Management of escalated queries/ issues that may arise within the team
- Supporting regular one to ones and performance reviews
- Overseeing the team to ensure that payments are processed within agreed time frames, signing off of any same day or FPS payment
- Preparation of reconciliations, reports and ad hoc information as reasonably requested by the Finance Manager
- Monitoring of relevant departmental KPIs.
- Liaising internally with fee earners to deliver requested information
- Delegation of duties to the team

**Requirements**:

- Relevant experience gained in a similar supervisory/ senior capacity
- Full working knowledge of the end to end accounts payables process, ideally within a larger and high volume environment
- Excellent people leadership and development abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - the ability to deliver financial information to internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills
- A positive and motivating mentality, committed to driving the team forward to maximise results
- Excellent query resolution and problem-solving abilities
- People orientated approach and mentality
- Legal sector experience and understanding of SRA Accounting rules is highly advantageous
