**Overview of role**:
**Location: Glasgow**
We have an excellent opportunity for a developing Logistics professional to join our team as the Despatch Front Line Manager at Allied Bakeries, Glasgow. This rotational shift role alternates from days to nights, working 4 on and 4 off.
**Key Accountabilities**:
Working in a fast-paced, diverse department, you will lead, motivate and develop a team to cover the entire activity cycle from incoming goods to despatching customer orders. You will effectively utilise both our people and our systems to ensure control, allocation and picking of stock as per customer requirements. You will also build and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders, including Distribution, Customer Services, 3rd Party suppliers, Allied Bakeries sites, and depots.
**The Role**:
- Actively promoting a culture of “Safety First”.
- Ensure the team are fully aware and compliant with all Health and Safety standards, policies, and legislation.
- Ensure that the team is adequately trained and briefed to fulfil shift requirements.
- To ensure that despatched goods meet customer expectations, including code control.
- Ensure that all departing vehicles are documented, loaded and secured correctly.
- Be responsible for food safety/product integrity within Despatch
- Responsible for controlling Despatch costs, including labour, damage and sales losses.
- Manage throughputs, including pick rates, loading, unloading and admin.
**Key Skills**:
- Previous experience developing people to consistently high-performance levels in a comparable role.
- Demonstrate the ability to take a practical approach to decision-making.
- Be a skilled and confident communicator.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office - Word and Excel
- Able to function and decide the work methods competently when faced with tight deadlines and intensive workloads.
