A superb opportunity has arisen for a defined benefit pensions professional with a good level of technical knowledge of defined benefit schemes.
We are seeking an individual who wants to achieve their potential. An individual who has at least over 2 years’ experience in administering defined benefit pension schemes, who wishes to become more involved helping client managers. This is a hybrid role,based in our Leicester office, although some home working will be permitted. We would expect one day a week/two days a fortnight in the office initially and thereafter one or two days a month in the office once fully integrated into the team.
**What will the job entail?**
The role specifically includes the following:
Preparing and checking member calculations and communications to ensure that they are accurate, clear and in accordance with our procedures.
Ensuring work undertaken by the administration and consultancy teams is done in accordance with procedures and processes.
Mentoring junior colleagues, to support the development of all of the administration team to improve quality and efficiency
Working with scheme consultants to develop and implement the scheme’s annual business plan which includes
Ensuring all governance matters are dealt with in good time,
Preparing governance reports and documentation
Preparing agendas and meeting packs for trustee meetings
Project management and technical support on key administration projects e.g. data cleansing exercises, GMP equalisation, onboarding of data for new admin clients.
Quality control and ensuring recurring tasks are done on time
Running payroll every month
Managing risk benefit renewals and claims for clients
You will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of defined benefit pensions. We believe in the importance of establishing knowledge of all areas of our business and all clients so you will be involved in all aspects of the work we do.
**Benefits**:
Salary, depending on experience, will be £30,000 - £38,000 plus pension, private medical insurance plan and life assurance
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes;
Any experience of CARE, Hybrid or defined contribution (DC) schemes is highly advantageous;
Knowledge of, and ability to administer, Group risk plans, such as Registered/Excepted Group Life Assurance plans, Group Private Medical, Group Critical Illness and Group Income Protection plans.
Ideally PMI or QPA qualified or willing to study towards relevant qualifications;
Experience of carrying out pension calculations;
The ability to process collect and input data and information as delegated;
Ability to prioritise workload, keeping to deadlines and disclosure requirements;
Information Technology literate - in the use of Office Systems, e.g. Microsoft Office, Adviser Office
Client relationship management experience.
