**We are looking for positive, compassionate and caring Support Workers to join our team in Redruth where we support people with learning disabilities. We have a range of full time and part-time opportunities on a permanent basis.**
- Due to active lifestyles a driver of a manual vehicle is essential for this role.About our Service
You will be supporting in a house where 4 younger people live. They are always out and about, enjoying life and will keep you on your toes. You will do everything from supporting people with their daily living tasks with things like finances and shopping to going to rock concerts at The Hall for Cornwall. Supporting them to live the lives they want to live. You will work in an established team, focused on delivering the absolute best care and support.
**_ What does a Support Worker do?_**
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills and Relationship building - supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
