A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our amazing Team We are looking for a Coordinator for our Youth homeless provision at YMCA South Devon, to cater for young people aged 16-25 years, in Torbay and the surrounding areas that find themselves homeless. This amazing project has been running at our particular YMCA for just over one year and we have already provided over 200 bed nights for vulnerable young people, if you want to play a part in changing young lives, this is the job for you

Experience combined with a passion for working with young people is a must. Understanding of youth homelessness, particularly in Torbay would be an advantage. Experience of working with volunteers and external agencies is desirable. You will be part of a small team working to provide high quality emotional and practical support for vulnerable young people, your hours will be flexible to be able to offer the appropriate level of support.

Our aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all young people that we support, with their aspirations and well-being at the centre of all that we strive for. The ability to create meaningful interactions with young people and their families is crucial. We consider forming healthy, trusting relationships the foundations of all work we undertake with young people and once this is established, we actively encourage positive progression and empower them to overcome the barriers they face.

We take our safeguarding responsibilities seriously at YMCA South Devon, two references will be sought, and an enhanced DBS check carried out.

Hours: 30 hours per week including telephone support evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
