Dignity as a concept is complex, contested and most easily recognised by its absence. Educational strategies to promote dignity as a concept and dignity in practice for students is sparse. DigniSpace is the first research informed online and interactive space for Dignity Education that is co-produced with students to address this gap. DigniSpace is underpinned by the Scottish PANEL (Participation, Accountability, Non-discrimination & Equality, Empowerment and Legality) principles of human rights as the overarching framework. It has been designed to help health and social care professionals learn more about the concept of dignity through a human rights lens and to confidently promote and advocate dignity in practice. Having been validated by experts in the NHS and social care sector and identified as an exemplar of best practice in human rights in health care education by The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE), the research team were keen to make Dignispace available as a Massive Online Open Course [MOOC] to health and social care students and practitioners across the world. The MOOC is currently under development an will be ready for launch by mid - March, 2024.
