To support this, we have embarked on a fragrance transformation journey with expert fragrance teams, designing and formulating affordable winning fragrances for our Personal Care, Beauty & Wellbeing and Home Care Business Groups.
**Job Purpose**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain a safe and professional laboratory environment at our new Perfumery facilities at Port Sunlight (UK).
- Maintain raw materials inventory and compounds retention libraries.
- Quality Control of Perfume Raw materials
- Care for equipment and arrange for repair/replacement if necessary.
- Compound accurately a broad range of perfumes including liquid mixtures from formulations provided by the technical perfumer.
- Conduct physical, chemical perfume testing with scientific rigour and reporting to ensure robustness and impact of our experimentation and learning.
- Follow, new laboratory procedures in relation to perfume raw materials / compounds and/or equipment.
- Perform other Fragrance Lab & Technology duties as per the needs of the business.
- Maintain accurate Records and timely reporting
- Safe Disposal of raw materials, finished fragrances and fragrance accords
**All about you**:
We are looking for a person with the right attitude, competencies, and growth mindset to join our growing Technical Perfumery team. A keen interest in the science of perfumes is key.
- You will be a quick learner who is not afraid to take the initiative to get things done.
- You will have a good sense of smell.
- You will have experience of working with perfume compounds and ideally with perfume raw materials.
- You will have a degree in a physical science, analytical chemistry or equivalent.
- You will be experienced in working in a laboratory environment with a keen eye for safe and effective procedures.
- Ideally you will have previous experience working within an FMCG environment or in the Flavours & Fragrances industry.
- Familiarisation with Unilever systems and processes will be an advantage.
- You will have good computer skills (MS Office, ERP) and an openness to embrace new systems.
