An exciting opportunity has arisen for Bus Service Coordinator in our Rail Replacement Team, coordinating, and managing the rail replacement activities in the London area. They will be responsible for effectively managing Rail Replacement operations and managing Rail Replacement Controllers based from Walworth Depot.

Due to the very nature of this work being during times of disruption, the position is offered on a zero hour contracts basis.

The Role:

- To plan and manage replacement buses to provide journeys to a timetable when the rail service is disrupted due to pre-planned and emergency requirements.
- A key part of this position will be to deliver effective training and coaching, identifying tends to ongoing training needs and monitor development of team members. You will undertake all assessments and retraining of all new and existing team members to ensure duties are carried out to the standards required.
- You will work closely with the Commercial Services Manager in developing and delivering training programs which increase awareness and understanding of contractual requirements.
- Work effectively with external suppliers and colleagues
- Have a duty of care for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues at all times, including a duty to report unsafe acts or omissions to safety.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role
- Must have thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and external stakeholders, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff. Able to provide clear and concise feedback and guidance to promote staff confidence in decision making.
- Skilled in strategic thinking and forward planning to avert problems before they occur and solve problems when they occur.
- Must be experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards and meet deadlines, be performance focused with the ability to enthuse a team to achieve results.
- Proactive and able to prioritise effectively and manage a busy workload.
- Ability to analyse and interpret information.
- Able to plan and manage own workload to achieve deadlines.
- Strong IT skills.
- Must have a flexible approach and be prepared to work outside normal hours to meet deadlines.
