Rate of Pay or Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum.

Working Time: 37 hours a week all year round. This is a management position that will require work outside of normal hours including evenings and weekends when exigencies of the role require.

Contract Type: Permanent

Pension: Local government pension scheme with higher-than-average employer contributions

Leave entitlement: 29 days per year plus bank holidays and additional discretionary days of leave at Christmas.

There couldn’t be a more exciting time to join Strode College as our new Head of Estates. We are about to embark on a Department for Education funded £25m project to rebuild a key part of our estate so you would be working closely with the DfE and the main appointed contractor on the delivery of this showpiece development.

You will offer strategic advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for all aspects of hard and soft facilities management across our single site campus. This is a varied and rewarding role and it is essential that you have a ‘hands-on’ approach to managing estates and maintenance issues. You will be required to build strong professional working relationships with key external stakeholders and procure maintenance contracts to ensure best value for money.

You will be a leader and a team player who has excellent communication skills and strong commercial acumen. The role requires high levels of organisation and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects.

The role will involve a strong focus on compliance with all legislative testing and Health and Safety legislation. You will be responsible for ensuring all site contractors comply with the college’s policies for safeguarding and health and safety. Also, you will be accountable for ensuring the college’s estates team have the correct training and support to work within the college’s risk assessments and method statements, writing new documents as required.

Strode College is a single campus college consisting of ten buildings including teaching, administration, Strode Theatre, Strode Sports Centre, Strode College Nursery, and a large car park.
