Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges - Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.

**The Exciting Role**

The role will be Accrington based but with the need to travel to our Nelson site as required.

**What You Will Be Doing**:

- Develop study strategies and life skills strategies that raise student retention and achievement, through tutorial/academic mentoring.
- Develop and deliver appropriate intervention strategies, working with curriculum team leaders and HE Programme Leaders, to ensure that students make rapid and sustained progress
- Serve as a sincere and positive source of support to help Access to HE and undergraduates to adjust to study and the University Campus Centre
- Maintain comprehensive, up to date, records and provide information as requested using College systems to track and communicate student progress (Promonitor)
- Serve as a resource for students helping them identify and access appropriate campus services as and when necessary
- Contribute to the smooth running of the selection and appointment to the HE Student Representation roles and HE Student Council as well as ensuring appropriate student representation on all relevant groups and committees across the University Centres
- With support or under the direction of Managers, co-ordinate any internally or externally funded project outcomes

**What We Are Looking For**:

- 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English
- Degree Level Qualification or an appropriate Professional Qualification
- Recognised mentoring and/or learning support qualification (or a willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment)
- Relevant experience in supporting adult students in a college and/or university setting
- Experience of team working skills with an ability to work across services
