**General**:
The primary role is to assist the sales team in the booking, ticketing and general administration of flights. The role will also involve liaising with our consolidator (and airlines) to secure favourable commercial terms and may also require you to deal directly with clients to assist with their flight related queries. Collectively, flights make up the biggest revenue component of our holidays so this is a very important role for Steppes Travel.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Commercial**
- To ensure that we are buying flights at the most competitive rates
- To maintain positive relationships with all airlines and consolidators - coordinating visits to office when necessary
- To be knowledgeable of current market prices and product innovations through competitor analysis

**Operational**
- Check all flight bookings (fare, ticketing deadline, upgrades, names, pseudo city) at point of booking and just before ticketing
- Send all flights to consolidator for ticketing, checking for cost savings and upgrades
- Assist with airline seating
- Manage Qs by overseeing the allocation of PNRs to individual travel consultants’ queues, highlighting any PNRs that need immediate action
- Carbon calculation - assist team with measurement of carbon footprint on all flights and take responsibility for monthly reconciliation of carbon measurements

**Sales**
- Proactive response to special offers for rebooking of existing PNRs and for use in marketing collateral.
- Point of contact for clients with air questions - sorting out missing air miles, seating issues etc.
- Reconciliation of invoice from our consolidator with our in house database
- Training programme for sales team covering Galileo, in-house process, carbon and airline product
- Groups - manage any group/charter flight allocations
- Flights for Fams and business travel

**Skills/Experience required**:
**Essential**
- Competent Galileo user with at least 2 years recent (within the last six months) experience
- Ability to work without supervision and manage your own time
- Good telephone manner and strong client service skills
- Good written ability, with a high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment, adhere to strict deadlines and effectively multi-task
- Teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
- Good computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- A strong team player with personality, knowledge and commitment to the Steppes Travel concept of supplying high quality, sustainable tailor-made holidays.

- Airline Fares and Ticketing Levels 1 & 2 (Professional)
- High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change and pressure
- Experience and passion for travel

**Terms/Conditions**
- Hours of work - 09:00 - 17:30 hours, Monday to Thursday and 09:00 - 17:00 Friday.
- Up to two working days per week from home
- Paid Holidays - 22 days (increasing after two years of continuous employment)
- Salary - dependent on experience
