**Your Team**: You will join the top leadership and backbench team, working alongside some of the most talented journalists in the industry.

**The role**: This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the day to day running and development of the award-winning print and digital content of Scotland’s No1 newsbrand.

**Day to Day you will**:

- Drive production across the week.
- Write fantastic headlines and design sparkling pages for Scotland’s best-selling newspaper.
- Work across news and features including breaking news, court stories, hard-hitting politics, serious investigations, gritty real life, showbiz tales and editing daily columnists.
- Turn ordinary news or features ideas into a great spread or great video package.
- Contribute ideas for all platforms.
- Monitor digital for content opportunities and quality control.
- Work to our extremely high standards.
- Be fully aware of potential legal issues and must always act in accordance with the PCC Code of Conduct.

**What we’re looking for from you**:

- An impeccable background in journalism.
- Extensive knowledge of Scottish politics.
- Proven track record in managing print and digital teams.
- Experience or knowledge of video and audio content
- Adapt to changing priorities across both print and digital
- Be flexible working across 7 days*
- Able to motivate and encourage team members
- Have great people management skills and a desire to bring out the best in people
- Be able to work effectively and calmly under pressure
- Be organised and have the ability to look beyond the day-to-day pressures with forward planning and strategic thinking
