We have some exciting opportunities for bank/casual Garden Centre Assistant to work at our garden centre in Englefield. As part of this role, you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities within the garden centre team, assisting in the successfulday to day running of the centre and serving customers.

Located on Englefield Estate, near Theale, Reading and managed byAffinity Trust, Englefield Garden Centre is the home of such a project.

Growing over 100,000 plants a year, Englefield is not only a thriving Garden Centre but also runs a horticultural therapy programme for the people we support. The programme engages participants in horticultural activities that promote improved health andwellbeing, increased confidence and enhanced practical and social skills.

The centre liaises closely with our support teams to further develop voluntary placements, work experience and paid employment. The people we support take on a range of tasks, including the development of the centre's plants and helping the garden centremeet the demands of an increasing customer base.

Being a Bank Garden Centre Assistant is very practical. You will be responsible for planting, growing and maintaining the retail area to a high standard. Customer services, working on the till, stock taking, using EPOS and having an understanding of Horticultureand willingness to learn.

Previous horticultural knowledge is essential. You will need a flexible approach to work and be prepared to try new ideas. If you are passionate about horticulture and supporting people to achieve their goals in employment, then we want to hear from you.
