This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large Defence and join our experienced teamworking on an exciting multimillion-pound project digitally transforming Government Defence Business Services. You will play a key part in having a positive impact on thelives of the Armed Forces and Veterans.

**What you will be doing**:

- Maintain and improve performance, facilities and integrity of all on-line systems
- Install, configure and maintain layer 2/3 network equipment over multiple Data Centres (WAN Infrastructure provided by 3rd party) and account office sites
- Install and configure communications software on all network attached devices
- Configure and maintains network security appliances, such as firewalls and IPSs
- Plan configurations of new equipment and reconfiguration of existing equipment
- Implement necessary security restrictions on network devices in accordance with department policy
- Monitor network performance and capacity planning within DBS MP&V (UK) network services
- Develop and maintain on-line systems, comms and network documentation and standards, including section work instructions and network topology maps

**What you'll bring**:

- Strong Experience as a network engineer or network support analyst
- Experience of IP data networks
- Some Cisco or equivalent network experience
- Some experience with switches and firewalls
- Valid UIK licence
- It would be great if you have:

- Experience of a complex data centre network environment
- Hands-on experience with CISCO layer 2/3 switches and firewalls inc Nexus
- Hands-on experience with McAfee Enterprise Firewalls
- Hands-on experience with F5 BigIP Load balancers
- Hands-on experience with Riverbed Steelhead WAN Optimisers

Security Clearance Level: Current SC or eligibility to undergo the vetting process.

**Salary**: To: £45,000
