JOB PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the role is to carry out highway lighting maintenance operations on existing highway electrical equipment and new installations across Cheshire East Highways. As a Skilled Operative, you will provide a first-class service to our customers,completing a high standard of maintenance to the highway network. You will need to be able to follow basic instruction and deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public
- Carry out a variety of skilled tasks including the installation and repair of Street Lights, Illuminated Traffic Bollards and Illuminated Signs.
- Ability to undertake activities associated with light goods vehicles to include MEWP vehicles
- Traffic management operations
- Ensure compliance to electrical standards to ensure safe electrical installations
- Driving/operating vehicles/plant requiring both general and specialist skills
- Providing instruction and mentor apprentices and trainees
- Participation in Call Out/Stand by Rota Out of Hours for Emergency Work
- Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role

Job Requirements:

- NVQ Level 3 in Highway Electrical Work Public Lighting (or approved equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous Street Lighting or Highways experience
- Valid ECS Test/Card
- IPAF 1B Mewp
- G39 Safe Isolation
- 18th Edition or 714 HERs Course
- Emergency First Aid
- Manual Handling
- Power Tools including hand tools
- Traffic Management Qualification - T1 & T2
- Streetworks
