We are working with a Manufacturing company based in Bilborough who are recruiting for a Trainee Machine Setter. If you have a mechanical mindset and enjoying working on your car or anything mechanical this role will be of interest to you.

This position is on a Permanent basis. Working Monday to Friday.

Working hours Mon - Thu 7am to 3:30pm, Fri 7am to 12:30pm (occasional night shifts required Mon - Thursday Week)

They are looking for a Trainee Setter to set and operate designated equipment and machinery in a Trainee capacity, to manufacture product in line with Quality specifications and in accordance with the Production schedule.

To assist and provide technical support at the desired level for the continuous improvement and development of manufacturing processes.

The Role

The responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:

- To set and run machines in a training capacity within production areas and under supervision where appropriate.
- To support the production of quality precision components by ensuring machines run smoothly.
- To assist and support skilled machine setters in day-to-day production.
- To perform changes and minor adjustments to production equipment as necessary.
- To accurately measure components and log information using dedicated software.
- To maintain and monitor machines within the department/work area to ensure they function as expected.
- To adjust and/or replace tooling as required to the standard agreed with Trainer/Line Manager.
- To commit to attending training, maintaining accurate training records, and developing skills and experience with the desire to achieve Setter role.
- To support production in providing quality products to the customer specification and specific requirements.
- To adhere to good housekeeping and 5S methods expected within the department.

For this role, it is essential that you have the following:

- Level 1 Maths and English or equivalent.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to follow instructions and processes.
- Mechanical skills
- Computer literate.
- Strong work ethic.
- Positive ‘will do’ attitude.
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn.
- Good time keeping and attendance.

Desired:

- Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
- Previous experience from similar engineering/manufacturing environment.
