**Scope of the role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales Ledger Clerk to join our team in South Wales. The role requires management of the Sales ledger, with key reports to payroll and the sales ledger supervisor. A key area includes invoice processing, credit control and communication with customers which are large UK blue chip retailers.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Day to day responsibility for the credit control function of the business, ensuring all customer credit limits are approved in line with group delegation of authority and debt is paid to agreed terms.
- Monthly debtor reporting with commentary for Finance Director.
- Running the daily invoicing process.
- Raising credits notes and adhoc invoices.
- Daily cash allocations and journals.
- Respond to and resolve customer queries in a timely manner.
- Calculate foreign exchange impact of sales.
- Provide weekly aged debt reporting.
- Manage invoice queries through business to ensure debt is paid to terms.
- Weekly cash flow forecast.
- Managing invoicing and payments through customer EDI portals.
- Upload data onto stakeholder’s portals, complete monthly reconciliations of accounts to their portals.
- Responsibility for month-end/year-end closing of Sales Ledger
- Assist with audit requirements.
- Control petty cash function for the business.
- Adhoc responsibilities
**Essential**:
- Previous Sales Ledger experience
- Able to work to deadlines, with good time management and organisational skills
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
- Flexible approach and willing to work additional hours when the job requires
- Strong system skills, Excel, EDI etc
- Excellent attention to detail
**Desirable**:
- Sage 1000 experience
