Our client is looking for a dedicated manager to lead a team to provide therapeutic care for young people with Emotional behavioural difficulties. You will be the eyes and the ears of the service and you will work closely with the team and the managers to support Children who have experienced trauma to move forward in their lives.

You'll have extensive experience in residential childcare and managing support workers, carrying out effective supervision, and thriving on their development. With an in-depth knowledge of regulations for children's homes, it's essential you have a minimum of a Level 3 diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.

This role involves leading a team to provide outstanding care for looked after children within a residential home. You will be required to have knowledge and experience of Children's Act, Ofsted regulations, Staff management, compliance, and safeguarding in line with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Social Emotional Mental Health young people.

Your role will be to lead from the front, setting excellent examples for staff and young people alike. You will be provided with the opportunity to recruit the team around you. There is an excellent opportunity for you to model this service around your own personality and practice methods.

Young people supported in this home may have been through past trauma and need support with elements of their lives such as; mental health, substance misuse, behaviours that challenge, absconding, boundaries, education, and employment. Having an empathetic and compassionate nature are key attributes for this position.

Shift Patterns: Monday
- Friday

Job Responsibilities
- Daily management of managers who will be managing Residential EBD services for young people
- Supporting a team to engage with children is going to be your key responsibility, setting examples and building excellent rapport to enable independence
- Leading a team of skilled staff ensuring they are supported and trained to an excellent standard
- Providing emotional support for both children and staff alike when required
- Ensuring wherever possible an excellent relationship with family members and guardians of the young people is considered at all times.
- Tasks including rota, writing care plans, organisation around referrals, staff management and training, liaising with social workers and other professionals
- Understanding and knowledge of safeguarding processes and policies
- Keeping a record of support and focusing on positive outcomes for the children you support
- De-escalating challenging behaviour if required
- Working in a team to motivate others
- Holding an Ofsted registration if required

Key Requirements/skills
- Must have a caring and open-minded nature and be willing to work on-call
- Must have management experience in children's residential service
- Must have supervisory experience within healthcare
- Must have an understanding of Ofsted and Reg 44's
- Must have a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
- Hold or willing to work toward a Level 5 Health and Social Care Management and Leadership
- Must be a driver
