**Hourly Rate**:£13.20ph day rate, £14.20 night rate (22:00-07:00)
**Overtime Rate**: £2.00ph on usually hourly rate
**Hours**:37.5 per week

**Location**: St. Austell, Cornwall

Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity. We have been making a difference for 35 years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.

At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.

An understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS) and leading PBS in practice would be an advantage, although not essential because we can develop these skills and experience with the right person who has the attitude and aptitude to learn and deliver at this level.

**About the Role**

You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice. You will lead the principles of nothing about me without me, ensuring the supported persons voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review.

**Check out the role brief and assignment information here - **2023 Practice Leader Role Brief_Porthpean.docx**

**About Kerry, Malcolm and Porthpean Hub**:
Kerry likes to knit while singing to ABBA. She enjoys planning trips to see shows at the theatre and the opportunity to visit the charity shop for a good bargain. She has her own car and likes to get out daily. Confidence with supporting epilepsy is desirable but committing to understanding her experience of past trauma is essential.

Malcolm needs you to help him settle into his new home and build trusting relationships with his team. To be understanding of the trauma he has experienced and empathetic to the anxieties he can present. Building on his emotional wellbeing to support confidence with access to the community as independently as possible is his focus. MS is a keen gardener and loves to get stuck in, so if you arent worried about getting your hands muddy, this could be for you.

As Practice Leader for this service, you will work with the Hub Leader & Registered Manager to role model outstanding support whilst also undertaking duties such as Rota planning, appraisals & supervisions, risk assessments, support planning and coordinating the regular training of your team. You will be able to use your IT skills to effectively use basic systems designed for efficient reporting.

You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice whilst overseeing 2 people we support and their staff teams. You will lead the principles of nothing about me without me, ensuring the supported persons voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review.

This opportunity is based within a supported lifestyle project for 7 individuals living in their own flats who receive 1:1 support at different times of the day and have access to our shared support hub. The hub is a unique dimension to Supported Living and you will be part of a team supporting individuals as a point of contact, with their planned activities and personal care requirements, as well as moving & handling people and providing distress behaviour support (when required).

We are looking for people who can engage with different personalities and bring energy, adaptability, creativity, humour, patience, and commitment to a support leadership role where every day is different.

**About you**

You will have experience of providing services for people with learning disabilities and autism, familiarity with supervising a team, and a current working knowledge of CQC regulation would also be advantageous.

You will work closely with family, external agencies, and your colleagues using the expertise of others to ensure access to a holistic, truly person-led service. You will demonstrate your ability to plan, deliver, and review support on an outcomes-focused pathway, considering positive risk taking to develop skills and have meaningful experiences. You will be driven to continuously improve the service and performance of your team to enable the people we support to direct their own lives by having opportunity, choice, and control.

A robust and methodical leader who is not afraid to be an active team player is essential. Excellent time management and organisational skills are essential. Be a role model for outstanding support and for both ladies and their team. Driven to continuously improve provision and performance of your team to enable them to direct their lives by having opportunity, choice and control regardless of capacity.

This is a 24 hour, 365 days per year service and you will need to be flexible to work as the service requires, including mornings
