The post holder will contribute to a Materials Management service delivery and associated stock control processes at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby (DPOW) in support of operational managers within departments ensuring that stock is maintained at optimum levels and that the levels are reviewed and adjusted in accordance with fluctuating demand.

The post holder will liaise with on-site Materials Management officers at DPOW and colleagues operating within the Receipt and Distribution centre. They will also link with members of the Strategic Procurement team, Purchasing team and the Materials Management teams based at the other Trust sites at Scunthorpe and Goole.

The post holder will assist the Deputy Materials Management Supervisor with the provision of the Materials Management service across DPOW and in conjunction with the Supervisor contribute to the development of systems and processes to ensure standardisation and effective work methods.

The post holder is also a key contact point for external users of the system for any queries or system change requests in respect of materials management and stock control.

The post holder will be required to actively support any cost control initiatives undertaken by the Trust Strategic Procurement team.

The role will assist in the success and delivery of the Trust procurement modernisation that is aligned with Department of Health’s procurement transformation strategy for the NHS and maintaining the reputation of the procurement service as a highly professional and enabling strategic and support service for the Trust and service partners.
