Are you an experience painter and decorator who is looking for a new, exciting challenge? If you answered yes, then look no further, a role at Host & Stay is just what you are looking for.

You are also responsible for giving an extra touch to work done using power and hand tools to sand surfaces for further finishing and painting.

Before carrying out the painting job, you will be responsible for blending paints and other materials to achieve the right colour or texture and then paint surfaces with various tools and according to instructions.

The painters work also involves maintaining painting equipment to ensure proper performance and striving to follow high-quality standards to reduce defects and exceed company standards but at an acceptable materials cost.

To be considered for this role you MUST have the following skills:

- Good aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
- Be able to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
- Be conscientious with great attention to detail.
- Be physically capable and available to work public holidays.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be organised and can prioritise tasks.
- Proven experience as a painter.
- Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
- Experience of working in unoccupied properties.

Day to Day you will:

- Work with clients to ensure you complete the work according to the requirements.
- Measure the work area to calculate the time and materials required to complete the project.
- Prepare the surrounding area, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes.
- Prepare painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls.
- Choose the tools to complete the job.
- Mix and match paints and colours to meet the texture and look required for the project.
- Clean up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project
- Collaborate with painters on other larger jobs
- Work with other construction professionals such as, carpenters, electricians and plumbers when necessary.
- Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions.
