**Job Description** Reporting into the Head of Procurement, this role**:

- Supports the creation, implementation, and management of WSH’s procurement strategy in relation to Indirect category spend.
- Management and ownership of all Indirect spend i.e. HR, IT, systems, travel, marketing, and lead team responsible for all operational services procurement i.e. Refurb, repair & maintenance, cleaning, refuse categories.
- Role covers spend across all WSH operating companies in the UK and Ireland with possible scope to expand beyond the UK in time.
- Defining category strategies in-line with overall business objectives to add value, mitigate risk, drive cost savings, and deliver Second Nature (ESG) targets.
- Direct line management of Purchasing Manager, Asset & Estate Service

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Undertaking category management in line with WSH supplier tiering system - building on and forming new supplier relationships where required / applicable and proactively managing the large ‘tail’ of suppliers classified as Indirect.
- Ensuring market developments and innovation are monitored and considered to continually align and update sourcing and category strategies, identifying opportunities which can create a competitive advantage for the organisation.
- Drafting, negotiating, and agreeing clear, concise, and complete contractual documentation where required.
- Working with tier 1 & 2 suppliers to ensure they are meeting WSH business requirements as defined in the WSH supplier code of conduct. Setting regular review meetings and joint business plans (JBPs) with core suppliers.
- Building effective project pipelines in line with wider organisational strategy and operating company requirements, working with cross functional and operating business teams to successfully deliver.
- Establishing and maintaining an effective network of internal stakeholders across multiple functions (H&S, Supply Chain Technical and Quality Assurance, Legal, Finance) to support procurement objectives and aligned decision making as well as continuously improving category specific standards and driving supplier compliance against these, minimising risk to the business at all times.
- Fulfilling role of Business Partner for defined Op-Co. Attending regular meetings to engage, understand challenges & requirements and update on market conditions & purchasing activity across the team.
- Line management of purchasing manager including setting objectives and monitoring performance.
- Accountable for creating and maintaining effective dashboard oversight for wider team - catalogues / deals / new suppliers - as well as maintaining Indirect forecast tracker value, project delivery status and Op-Co communication plans into Head of Procurement.
- Working with commercial finance team to build Indirect commercial strategy and ensuring full compliance with all contract governance activity, process and ensure timescale KPIs are being met by Indirect procurement team.

- Excellent negotiation and networking skills to deliver the best results for the business
- Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems
- Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
- Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills
- Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning
- Analytical mindset, but also creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches that can advance procurement
- Strong analytical skills essential and to be able to balance operational delivery and strategic thinking.
- Highly organised and efficient in planning workload with sound project management skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is vital.
