General Yard Operative

**JOB DESCRIPTION-YARD OPERATIVE**

As a member of the yard team, you will be responsible for the day to day presentation and organisation of the yard under direction of the Yard Manager and Branch Manager. You will be dealing with customer requirements, putting away stock, maintaining a clean and organised yard and assisting the Yard Manager with duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Load delivery vehicles accurately
- Pick loads ready for deliveries
- Unload incoming vehicles and ensure goods are put away
- Check deliveries before signing
- Serve and load customers with their requirements
- only loads goods on a ticket
- Keep the yard clean, tidy, safe and well presented
- Report any Health and Safety Issues
- Keep forklifts in good condition
- Ensure all paperwork is passed to the office promptly
- Ensure that the security of the stock and branch is maintained
- Report stock shortages and damages to the office
- Serving our customers politely and professionally at all times
- Stock checking and stocktaking when required
- Replenishing stock levels and assigning materials to their correct locations

**Salary**: £7.93-£11.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cardiff: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
