POSITION: HV FITTER

REPORTING TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Fitter to join our team. As an HV Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage (HV) electrical equipment and systems. Your expertise and technical qualifications in HV systems will be critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of HV systems and compliance with relevant UK regulations and standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Install, maintain, and repair HV electrical equipment and systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
- Perform routine inspections and tests on HV systems to identify potential faults or malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing appropriate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct electrical risk assessments and develop appropriate control measures.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop maintenance plans and schedules for HV equipment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements, regulations, and industry best practices in HV systems.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an HV Fitter or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Strong technical skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HV systems.
- Familiarity with UK regulations, codes, and standards relevant to HV electrical work (e.g., Electricity at Work Regulations, BS 7671).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Ability to perform electrical measurements, tests, and fault-finding procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Valid UK driving license (if required for travel between job sites).
- Relevant technical qualifications such as City & Guilds 2357 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Additional certifications related to HV systems, such as the National Grid Authorised Person certification, would be advantageous.
