Psychological Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the North Tyneside Talking Therapies Service for an experienced Psychological Therapist, to provide excellent, high quality and time limited psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines to patients presenting with a range of mental health problems.

The service will consider requests for full and part time working, and currently we work a blended approach between home and base working.

The service delivers high quality clinical supervision and CPD programmes in house, and strongly supports staffs’ continued learning and development; and established links with Newcastle Uni, DCLIN Psych Course.

The role will require you to work in conjunction with colleagues to deliver services within a flexible stepped care model of care. As the service is designed to promote greater access you will be required to work flexible hours to enable this improved service delivery. We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. We have one of the most extensive patient experience programmes of any trust in England.

The post holder will work within the Psychology team of North Tyneside Talking Therapies. The Service is an integrated mental health service and consists of the national NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression programme, together with Counselling, Psychology and Employment Support.

To be responsible for providing and promoting the psychological health and wellbeing of clients in our psychology team within North Tyneside Talking Therapies.

The post holder will provide therapy interventions to patients with a range of complex mental health disorders and provide clinical supervision to other psychological therapists.
