Data is one of the enabling pillars of Bupa's 3x6 strategy and the effective management of privacy risk is key to the strength of this pillar. The BGUK Privacy Team is recruiting a Privacy Specialist for Health Services whose primary role will be to provide expert advice on privacy matters.

**You'll help us make health happen through**:

- Providing expert advice on a wide range of data privacy legal and compliance matters, including data processing agreements, data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and transfer risk assessments.
- Delivering work needed to meet requirements under Bupa's Privacy Oversight Control Framework.
- Ensure comprehensive quarterly key risk driver assessments are conducted to ensure that senior management have sight of the privacy risks that matter to their area.
- Influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders including General Managers, Business Information Security Officers and Heads of Marketing, IT, Customer Services and Risk and Compliance.
- Evaluating potential personal data breaches and managing reporting obligations and subsequent investigations.
- Providing support to the BGUK Legal teams on complex data protection legal issues such as contract negotiations and litigation.
- Maintaining knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements and monitoring to ensure organisational adaptation and compliance

**Key Skills needed for this role**:

- In-depth and extensive specialist knowledge of data protection laws and issues.
- Professional Privacy Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/M) or equivalent (desirable).
- Strong legal research skills.
- A good understanding of confidentiality issues in the health care and the interplay with data privacy laws (desirable).
- Confident engaging with, and challenging where appropriate, senior stakeholders and leaders (e.g. Business Unit General Manager, Executive Team (ET) members and ET -1) to ensure privacy risks are appropriately managed.
- Experience of reviewing complex data processing agreements and successfully negotiating to appropriately balance Bupa's risk and commercial interests
