We are seeking to appoint a charismatic and confident food runner to work within Thyme’s sophisticated & flagship restaurant, The Ox Barn, within our luxury, five-star country estate.

The Ox Barn offers carefully curated menus which tell a story of the farm and seasons. Under the direction of Charlie Hibbert, the chefs, and gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create a modern British countryside fare.

The Food Runner is the liaison between the floor and kitchen team. The runner should make all efforts to ensure that all orders are processed and served in a controlled and timely manner. The food runner must communicate efficiently to the Pass Chef, Managers and floor team and ensure the pass is presentable at all times.

Key duties:

- Polish and prepare cutlery
- Prepare pass with service cloths, highlighters, and sharpie
- Communicate with Pass Chef as to any items on Countdown and communicate to Manager on duty
- Prepare boiling water and vinegar pot with cloths for polishing
- Check all orders for completeness as they come in
- Check number of covers matches number of orders
- Highlight any special requests
- Monitor that all tables are called away on time
- Liaise with waiters to ensure that orders for large tables are staggered
- Constantly check order times
- Keep floor team and managers informed of any changes to the menu and any items on countdown
- Serve food to tables, introducing dishes and ensuring guests are happy

- 6pm - 11pm
- 8am - 12pm

**Experience & Knowledge**
- Experience of working within, or a desire to work within a high-end restaurant
- Working knowledge of organising a restaurant pass
- A basic understanding of sustainable food farming practises
- Able to deal effectively with guest feedback and swiftly resolve issues to satisfaction
- Ability to memorise ingredients and dishes to detail.
